Kaspi Travel Design Process
Kaspi Travel is the travel booking product inside Kaspi.kz, the super-app used by most adults in Kazakhstan (around 15M monthly active users). In the same app that already handles their payments, banking, and shopping, users book flights, trains, and tours and pay in installments. In the world's ninth-largest country, where domestic flights and overnight trains are everyday travel, booking is a high-frequency, high-stakes surface. I owned this booking experience end to end as the Product Designer, working under tight deadlines and hard technical constraints.
Situation
Kaspi set out to launch in-app rail and air ticket booking, two complex, integration-heavy flows, on an aggressive timeline.
Task
Design the entire booking system for rail and air tickets, end to end, in a very short window.
Action
I gathered technical requirements directly from engineers, mapped the constraints of the Amadeus GDS powering flight inventory, and benchmarked competitor booking flows. From there I built the user flows and a full customer journey map, then translated everything into the complete booking design.
Result
We shipped on time. The full, complex design was assembled in under a week of focused work under tight deadline pressure, and the booking system launched successfully inside the app.
